Ultrathin cooler Thermaltake Engine 27: hybrid of fan and radiator

In 2015, we wrote about an unusual decision by the cooler CoolChip. “Kinetic Cooling Technologie” replaces the classic cooling ribs on a metal radial fan and thus saves space. Engine 27 – cooler Thermaltake, which uses this concept.

Engine 27: Features

The basis of Engine 27 is plated round copper plate. The cooling fins are located just on the edge. Most of the surface takes radial fan, which is not made of plastic and aluminum alloy. It thus can serve as radiator. This unusual design allows the cooler to reduce the thickness to 27 mm (this figure from the product name). A small fan is controlled by the PWM signal, the speed of rotation of 1,500 – 2,500 r / min. Thermaltake ensures that, at least at low speed the noise level is minimized.

However, an unusual design can not violate the laws of physics. To cool hi-end processors Engine 27 will not work. It can be used with relatively modest CPU, for example, in HTPC systems. Thermaltake indicates that the cooler will cope with teplopaketom to 70 watts.

Information about the start of sales of the new low-profile cooler Engine 27 has not.
