It happens: you buy a laptop, or the now popular mini-PCs, and like them OK, but eventually starts to feel the need for additional memory. Also in recent memory SO-DIMM became especially relevant in connection with a large spread of those mini-PC, which initially has no megabytes of RAM and must be purchased separately.
As mentioned in a recent article about the analysis of the market of memory the price of memory is slowly growing. If one of the above examples your case, then buying new RAM is worth considering now.
For those most laptops and smaller computers in 99% of cases need of RAM format SO-DIMM and you review one of these kits – HyperX Impact DDR4-2133 (HX421S13IBK2/16).
HyperX Impact DDR4-2133 come with the heart of a typical plastic blister. On the external sticker printed main memory characteristics, and from the yard there is a complete marking.
Inside the modules are fixed very securely. I mean VERY reliable. They are so much squeezed with the ends of the plastic that they were even a little problem to get. And it’s even a plus because any vibration during the transportation from your place modules do not come out, and will not “hang out” inside the box.

To me the review was a set of HyperX Impact DDR4-2133 consisting of two modules of 8 GB, frequency of 1066 MHz, which corresponds to the mode HyperX Impact DDR4-2133. It works at the timings 13-13-13-35 CR2, and at the standard DDR4 voltage is 1.2 V. In the line from HyperX Impact there are also models with a frequency of 1200 MHz (DDR4-2400 effective), “whales” 4×4 GB, and single modules with a 16GB capacity that will be definitely appreciated by the owners of laptops that have only one slot for RAM.
For the sake of fashion “RAM” is made on a black PCB, and just plastered with various stickers. In the entire plane front black sticker with the name of the manufacturer and series, and also mention that this is DDR4 memory.
On the Verso two labels, but that is bad, none of them does not bear practical use. None of them, not printed frequency, timings, etc. Yes, this can be understood by marking HX421S13IBK2/16, but not everyone knows how to read it, and it’s uncomfortable.

The same kit tested on the motherboard for mini PC ASUS UN66. The scope is still modules, mini-PCs and laptops, and in our ASUS UN66 almost top notebook standards, the Core i7-6500U, in which 2 cores/4 threads, and the frequency to 3.1 GHz.
In the standard JEDEC profile prescribed settings HyperX Impact DDR4-2133 CL13-13-13 @ 1.2 V. interestingly, there is even the XMP profile, but it is written completely similar configuration.
Any one test memory can’t do without traditional results AIDA64. We talk about them.
In tests AIDA64 kit HyperX Impact DDR4-2133 shows the results approximately similar to those of the conventional (full-size) DDR4. A small bonus, of course, provide reduced timings. However, the fact of reaching such speeds read/write – almost a miracle.
However, in the extreme, it is recommended to buy a dual channel kit. On our test mini-PC with one strap results were almost 50% lower. In this case, Dual-Channel gives a lot. So if there is a choice between the module 16 GB or two 8 GB in terms of speed is much more preferable 2×8’s.
