Series Panasonic Lumix G – this camera with a matrix of micro 4: 3 for the mass market. After the release of Lumix G70, capable of shooting video in 4K, functional amateur cameras began to approach the model of GH, which offers mainly a professional videographer. With the new camera Lumix G81 trend continues.
At first glance, the Lumix G81 is difficult to distinguish from the previous model. However, if you look closely, you can see some changes in the body and magnesium frame front. All this serves to protect the camera from dust and splashes. Previously, such protection is offered only with a model GH4 and other cameras of a higher class. Now, in the extreme conditions on the street can be used and Lumix G81. Another innovation that brings novelty to GH4 refers not to the camera itself and the proposed enhancement. Unlike the Lumix G70, the manufacturer now offers a battery grip or booster (DMW-BGG1), so that the battery capacity is doubled, and make vertical shots becomes easier. SD card slot is now on the side of the camera.
Finally, the novelty is equipped with 5-axis dual image stabilizer. Stabilizer is in the “carcass”, so can be used with camera lenses without stabilization. When using Panasonic branded lenses stabilizers in the lens and the camera can work together. The new solenoid valve designed to eliminate the main drawback of the previous model – hit while the shutter is released, due to which certain extracts were obtained blurred images.
Lumix G81 allows you to both take photos and shoot videos. 4K-video is recorded at 30 FPS. 4K Photo function allows you to take 8-megapixel photos at 30 FPS. Despite the fact that the Lumix G81 uses a sensor with a resolution of “only” 16 megapixels, photo quality should be at a height due to the lack of low-frequency filter. For these and other improvements potential buyers will have to pay extra money.
If the price Lumix G70 was 699 euros, the G81 has been around 899 euros. Sales should begin in October.

Also 6K Photo feature will be available, allowing to make the 18-megapixel images at 30 FPS.
