MediaTek expands the range of SoC Helio. In addition to the new Helio X23, the manufacturer also presented the X27. Both chips will be based on the technology Helio X20 and X25, respectively. However, the frequency as a CPU, GPU or new models are higher.
Helio X23 is equipped with two cores and eight Cortex A72 A53, which are arranged in two clusters of four cores in each. Two fast-A72 cores running at 2.3 GHz. Compared to the X20 novelty was an increase of 200 MHz. GPU Mali-T880 rate, however, remained unchanged at 780 MHz.
Helio X27 will become the new flagship of the series, and will also offer 10 cores. For two nuclei A72 frequency was increased up to 2.6 GHz. The remaining eight A53 cores are divided into two clusters: the first is clocked at 2.0 GHz and slower – 1.6 GHz. GPU Mali-T880 overclocked to 875 MHz.
Two new items as well as their predecessors, will be produced at the factory TSMC 20-nm process technology. The rest of the equipment has not undergone changes, with the exception of support for dual-core camera. In addition, by optimizing the now smartphone screens with data SoC will spend a quarter less energy. When MediaTek Helio X23 and X27 will be on the market is unknown.
