MediaTek Helio P15: introduced new SoC for smartphones

MediaTek company introduced a new SoC: MediaTek Helio P15. This processor is the successor to the familiar Helio P10, which provides the performance of smart phones such as the Oppo F1 Plus or Meizu m3 Note. As Helio P10, the new product is designed for mid-range devices.

MediaTek Helio P15: Specifications

The chip is based on the eight core ARM Cortex A53, the frequency of which is up to 2.2 GHz and GPU Mali-T860 MP, clocked at up to 800MHz. Thus, the new chip is a kind of a small upgrade P10, which is built on the same architecture and the same GPU, but it works for some reduction in the frequency: 2 GHz (CPU) and 700 MHz (GPU).

MediaTek promises that the performance of new items will be 10% higher than the P10. Improve efficiency and P15. However, it should be noted that MediaTek Helio P15 is made on 28-nm process at TSMC, so expect miracles from him still not worth it. Despite the fact that MediaTek not give any details about the RAM support, the novelty should work with LPDDR3-933 memory. In addition, SoC supports LTE Cat.6.

MediaTek Helio P15: Release date

Partners soon to get new chips MediaTek Helio P15, but before the product announcement for the new SoC will take some time.
