The Huawei company reported on important achievement in the mobile sphere. By means of the Huawei Kirin 970 processor it was succeeded to show data transmission rate on the cellular network at the level of 1,2 Gbit\s.
We will remind that the Kirin 970 chip debuted at the recent IFA 2017 exhibition. It is the 10-nanometer processor with four kernels of ARM Cortex-A73 with clock rate to 2,4 GHz and four kernels of ARM Cortex-A53 with clock rate to 1,8 GHz. There is a graphic Mali-G72 MP12 controller.
The chip contains the cellular LTE Category 18 modem. So, it is reported that the experiment on mobile data transfer with use of the Huawei Kirin 970 processor was made in partnership with the Rohde & Schwarz company. This is one of the leading developers in the international market of the measuring equipment and radio communications.
During the test the technology 4×4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) was involved. Besides, modulation 256-QAM was applied. As a result, it was succeeded to show the speed of mobile data transfer at peak of opportunities of the LTE Category modem of 18 — 1,2 Gbit\s.
