Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) announced the quick release of a new motherboard for Intel Kaby Lake processors – ECS Z270-Lightsaber, made in the form factor ATX. At the heart of the novelty, as the name suggests, the top set of system logic of Intel Z270 is used, and its main buyers should be overclockers and computer enthusiasts.

ECS Z270-Lightsaber motherboard is equipped with a 14-phase CPU power system, supports up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 memory, is equipped with three PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots, operating in x16 / x0 / x4 or x8 / x8 / x4 mode, and Four PCI-E 3.0 x1. For connecting drives, six SATA 6 Gb / s ports are provided, as well as one M.2 and U.2 connector with a maximum capacity of 32 Gb / s.

Among the noteworthy features of the novelty is the compliance with the company’s Durathon standard, the audio subsystem based on the Realtek ALC1150 controller and the Texas Instruments NE5532AP operational amplifier, as well as the Gigabit network interface based on the Killer E2500 chip. In addition, the motherboard is equipped with two UEFI chips and a pair of standardized connectors for connecting RGB LED strips.

ECS Z270-Lightsaber: Price and release date

There are two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, a PS / 2 connector, four USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs, and a set of audio connectors on the I / O panel. Sales of the ECS Z270-Lightsaber motherboard will begin in the near future, the recommended price is not yet called.
