Taiwanese company Akasa, known primarily as a manufacturer of compact computer chassis and low-cost cooling systems, announced the imminent release of the new Akasa Galatico chassis for Intel NUC systems. The novelty is characterized by dimensions 383х213х93 mm. It is remarkable by an array of aluminum edges on the sides, acting as a radiator for the processor. Also it is compatible with the compact personal computer Intel NUC NUC6i7KYK, which passed through our test laboratory.
To remove heat from the 45-watt Intel Core i7-6770HQ processor (4 cores / 8 streams, 2.6 / 3.5 GHz, Iris Pro Graphics 580), four copper heat pipes are used to the radiator housing. Note that aluminum was also used in the manufacture of all other components of the case, which allows to call Akasa Galatico a large CPU cooler.
The set of ports on the front and back sides of the case is identical (except for the card reader slot) to the set of compatible Intel NUC mini-PCs. Inside also provides a seat for one 2.5-inch drive.
Unfortunately, no information on the timing of the beginning of supplies and the recommended cost of Akasa Galatico has not yet been reported. According to available information, the price of the hull will be in the range of 300-400 dollars.
